Environmental issues and the need for sustainable energy
With sustainable systems now very much part of the wide range of energy services to choose from, advances in technology now makes this a very viable alternative to more traditional energy sources. Whether it be heat pumps, solar panels, wind turbines or a combination of all three, the installation of such technologies and the benefits that can be gained make sustainable energy systems the forward thinking approach to future energy requirements.
Not only do the CO2 emissions drop substantially with sustainable energy systems but the financial gains through lower energy consumption should also be taken into account.
The economic impact
The wider and most important issue with any energy consumption is of course the impact that it has on the environment. Such is the scale of the problem that governments around the world have and will continue to form legislation that forces businesses to meet a range of criteria with any new building developments. Such an example is the UK's own legislation introduced in 2006 which states that a new office building must demonstrate a 28% cut in carbon emissions compared to a similar building under 2002 legislation.
